Non-Profit Board Service Academy

The Non-Profit Board Service Academy returns to OCHRS for the third year.  This training is offered to OCHRS members and non-members to prepare the HR professional to serve on non-profit boards.  Besides preparing the HR pro, the goal is to bring HR best practices to others in the community that might not otherwise have any contact with the human resource professional outside of the workplace.

The different sessions offered include:

·        Crucial Conversations

·        Understanding By-Laws

·        Project Management for Board Service

·        Teamwork on Boards

·        Understanding Financial Statements

·        Working with Sponsors

·        Ethics in Board Service

·        Developing Membership and Volunteers

·        Making Presentations for Boards

·        Diversity on Boards

·        Everything DiSC for Leaders

·        Graduation Guest Speaker

The classes meet at Francis Tuttle Technology Center twice each month in September, October and November with a graduation on December 3rd.  The class has an application that must be completed and submitted in advance by August 31, 2019, along with payment for this training.  

Francis Tuttle Technology Center's Business and Industry Services Division is a sponsor and provides the classroom for this training.  

Statement of Assurance from FTTC: “No person will be permitted on Francis Tuttle premises currently registered or required to register under the provisions of the Oklahoma Sex Offenders Registration Act or the Violent Crimes Offenders Registration Act.”
